Fatty tissue may be transferred from one area of the body to another with the use of liposuction-type equipment. Fat may be removed from the abdomen, thighs or buttocks and added to the reconstructed breast. Fat grafting may be performed under local or general anesthesia, typically as an outpatient. In addition, fat grafting may require several sessions.
